LEGION OF APOSTOLIC FAMILIES (LOAF), an association of consecrated families committed to lead family life according to the vision of Bible and the teaching of the Magisterium of the Church and to spread these ideals among catholic families. The Church is in need of ideal families which can leaven the Church and the society as agents of transformation of all aspects of society and Christianize the world through a life of witness and catechesis. LOAF aims to be a communion of catholic families committed to this goal and ready to lead this counter-culture in our society and Church.
The idea of LOAF was initiated by Mar Andrews Thazhath, Archbishop of Trichur, the Founder. Fr. Francis Aloor took the lead to co-ordinate the first group of Couples. A group of 10 families started exploring the possibility of initiating a new association for families in early 2009. Living the Gospel and becoming Leaven in society, member families of LOAF lead a life of OBEDIENCE to God, the Holy Catholic Church and its Hierarchy, a life of Conjugal CHASTITY and fidelity to family values and a life of SIMPLICITY.
Life of a LOAF family is the recommitment to live the original design of marriage and family envisioned by God in creation and taught by Magisterium of the Church in its entirety by being in a state of grace and life of witness. LOAF family practices the divine gift of Grace and stir the society towards the constitution of a civilization of Christian Love, Life, Justice and Grace.
LOAF is meant to help member families and all those families who wish to live the tenets of the ideal family envisioned by God.
LOAF would be a catalyst to Christianize the world by Christianizing families, by bringing individuals and families to deep intimacy with Jesus Christ in faith and love and aims at building up the Universal Church and society from families.
